Oscar Mayer “Selects Uncured Turkey Bacon” marked to expire between Aug. 24 and Oct. 26, 2015, has been recalled.

Kraft Heinz has recalled select packages of its Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon products due to possible premature spoilage.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service, the company has recalled approximately 2,068,467 pounds of turkey bacon products stamped as “best used by” Aug. 24 through Oct. 30.

These products were produced between May 31, 2015, and Aug. 6, 2015, and were shipped nationwide, as well as exported to the Bahamas and St. Martin. Specific details, including the UPC, can be viewed here.

The problem was discovered during an investigation into spoilage-related consumer complaints, the USDA reports.

It has not received any confirmed reports of adverse reactions related to the consumption of these products, however, the company has received reports of illness related to consumption.

Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a health care provider.
