NCAA champion Villanova Wildcats to parade Friday in Philadelphia

On-campus celebration being held at 5 p.m. Tuesday

The excitement only continues for Villanova basketball fans.

The Wildcats, who dramatically beat North Carolina Monday night in the NCAA championship game on Kris Jenkins' last-second 3-pointer, will parade through Center City Friday afternoon. An on-campus celebration is slated for Tuesday afternoon to welcome the team back to the Main Line campus.

The parade begins at 1 p.m. Friday at 20th and Market streets and will proceed to Dilworth Park. More details will be released later this week, a Villanova spokesman said.

The Wildcats are expected to return to Philadelphia's Atlantic Aviation airport at 4 p.m. and arrive on campus about 30 minutes later. A celebration will be held inside the Villanova football stadium at 5 p.m. Coach Jay Wright and the players will speak and show off the national championship trophy.

Additionally, the campus bookstore received a shipment of national championship gear that is available for purchase.
