Oscar nominations 2016: The complete list

Stallone recognized, 'Revenant' leads the way

It's that time of year again: the nominations for the 88th annual Academy Awards have been announced. "The Revenant," starring Leonardo DiCaprio, leads the way with twelve nominations. Surprise hit "Mad Max: Fury Road" scored a number of nods, including Best Picture and Best Directing for 70-year-old director George Miller. As many Philadelphians will appreciate, Sylvester Stallone was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Rocky reboot "Creed" just days after winning the Golden Globe for the same role.

Unfortunately, this year's nominations follow the same "#OscarsSoWhite" theme as last year: not one person of color is nominated in one of twenty acting categories.

The 88th Academy Awards will air on ABC Feb. 28. Below, find a complete list of nominees.
