Two Pa. state troopers injured following police chase on Route 422

Two Pennsylvania state troopers were hospitalized early Monday morning after a high-speed police chase ended in a crash on Route 422, 6ABC reports.

State police were called in to assist Reading police in the pursuit of a stolen car around 1:45 a.m.

Officers followed the suspect onto Route 422 east, where stop sticks were deployed to slow down the suspect's vehicle. Additional troopers positioned their vehicles in front of the suspect's vehicle in an attempt to stop him.

The chase ended when the suspect crashed into the state troopers' vehicles on 422 near Mingo Road in Royersford, Montgomery County, police said.

Two troopers were taken to Phoenixville Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, according to 6ABC.

The suspect was identified as 35-year-old Daniel Arroyo Vasquez. He was taken into custody and faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault.
