Victim taken to Christiana hospital to undergo surgery

Police in Delaware are investigating after a New Castle County man was stabbed by a relative on Christmas morning.

According to authorities, the 47-year-old victim was stabbed at a home on Birkshire Road in Oakmont, CBS 3 reports.

Police who responded to the scene found the unidentified victim suffering from wounds to his torso and arm.

Officials said the suspect, a relative of the victim, fled the scene before police arrived. He remains at large.

The victim was transported to Christiana Hospital, where he underwent surgery. His condition remains unknown.

Police did not reveal a motive for the stabbing and an investigation is ongoing.
