Seven men arrested in overnight raid for owing $120K in child support

In a press release, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office called them "deadbeat" parents.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday that it has arrested seven "deadbeat" parents in a recent sweep.

The defendants, who are awaiting a hearing, stretch from Norristown to Pottstown.

The sweep came overnight for the parents who did not pay child support or show up for related court hearings. Altogether, the seven men owed about $120,000 for 14 different children. Only two resisted arrest.

-Walter Baltra of 1214 Egypt Rd., Phoenixville, Pa., owes $789.79 for one child.
-Brian Bates of 21 W. Oak St., Norristown, Pa., owes $4,348.41 for three children.
-Anthony Carpenter of 450 King St., Pottstown, Pa., owes $14,131.75 for three children.
-Edward Craig of 306 Horseshoe Dr., Royersford, Pa., owes $12,633.03 for one child.
-William E. Jones, Jr., of 623 W. Main St., Norristown, Pa., owes $44,754.85 for one child.
-James Marlin-Fazio, Jr., of 3527 Ridge Pk., Collegeville, Pa., owes $17,437.24 for four children.
-Joseph Ziff of 53 Walnut St., Pottstown, Pa., owes $25,000.48 for one child.
