An early morning shooting in North Philadelphia left two people injured Sunday, according to media reports.

6ABC reports that the incident began around 1 a.m. Saturday outside the Triple Play Sports Bar located on the 1600 block of West Hunting Park Avenue.

Two men were reportedly kicked out of the bar after causing a commotion, returning in a car about 20 minutes later when one man got out and fired 16 shots at those standing outside the establishment.

A customer was hit in the ankle and armed security guards returned fire, the news station reports.

According to NBC Philadelphia, a man showed up at Einstein Medical Center minutes later with a gunshot wound to the stomach, but police are unsure if he is a suspect or was just a patron at the bar when the shooting happened.

The guards were licensed to carry and cooperated with authorities, NBC reports, and police are hoping surveillance footage aids their investigation.
