Shootings injure 6-year-old, kill man in Grays Ferry

Police are looking for the suspects involved in two separate shootings that injured a 6-year-old and killed a man in Grays Ferry Monday night, 6ABC reports.

The first incident involving the 6-year-old boy occurred on the 1800 block of S. 31st St. just before 11:30 p.m.

The boy was shot in the foot while playing basketball with friends and family, according to police. He was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for treatment and is listed in stable condition.

Less than a mile away, two men were shot on the 1200 block of S. 28th St., shortly after the first shooting.

One victim, a 38-year-old man, died at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center from multiple gunshot wounds, police said. The other victim, who was shot several times in the legs, was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital by private vehicle, according to officials.

More than two dozen shell casings of different calibers were found at the scene. Police believe the shooting may have been an ambush or some type of shootout.

No arrests have been made.
