Video of Kelly Oubre Jr. returning home surfaces not long after police say they can't find footage of the hit and run

Video obtained by TMZ Sports shows 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. returning home after a hit-and-run crash in Philadelphia on Saturday, Nov. 11. Oubre can be heard telling his wife that he had been struck by a car. Police have not found video evidence of the crash, which Oubre said happened at Spruce and Hicks streets in Center City.

76ers strike deal to manage parking at proposed Center City arena

The Philadelphia 76ers and parking lot operator Parkway Corp. have entered a partnership to manage anticipated parking demand at the 76ers proposed arena in Center City. The team says fans will be able to reserve parking spaces in lots near the arena when they purchase their tickets. The announcement comes ahead of a public town hall event the 76ers are holding Thursday night at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown hotel.

Kevin Hart to receive prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor

Comedian and actor Kevin Hart will become the 25th winner of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor presented by the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The North Philadelphia native will join a list of past winners that includes Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Tina Fey, Dave Chappelle and Adam Sandler. He'll be given the award at a Kennedy Center gala on March 24, 2024.

Video of East Oak Lane robbery shows suspects tying up family members as child watches

A family was robbed at gunpoint and tied up as a 4-year-old girl watched inside an East Oak Lane home, Philadelphia police said. Investigators shared video of the Nov. 6 incident on Tuesday. A safe, cash, jewelry and guns were stolen from the property on the 6600 block of North Seventh Street. Authorities are searching for four suspects who fled the home in a black Acura.

Fewer men are getting prostate cancer exams, so Penn Medicine is offering free screenings to those most vulnerable

Screenings for prostate cancer and other preventive medical care have been down since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. This has resulted in more cancer diagnoses at stages that make effective treatment more difficult, doctors say. So Penn Medicine and the Philadelphia Flyers are offering free screenings to at-risk men.

Eagles extend flagship broadcast deal with SportsRadio 94WIP

The Philadelphia Eagles and SportsRadio 94WIP, owned by Audacy, have a signed a six-year extension of their partnership that makes the station the flagship home of the team's radio broadcasts. The extension continues the radio booth partnership between Merrill Reese and Mike Quick, who have been the voices of the Eagles' radio broadcasts for 25 seasons. Eagles games have been heard on 94.1 since 1992.

Luxury apartment tower to open near Yards taproom, Silk City Diner in Northern Liberties

Southern Land Co. topped off its 12-story luxury apartment building at Fifth and Spring Garden streets in Northern Liberties on Monday, Nov. 13. The project will add 329 units and 14,000 square feet of commercial space to the Philadelphia neighborhood. The building, which will offer coworking spaces, will begin leasing units in late 2024.

Federal court rules Montgomery County township can't ban display of 'thin blue line' flag on municipal property

A federal judge ruled Tuesday that Springfield Township, Pennsylvania's resolution banning the pro-police 'thin blue line' flag on township property was unconstitutional. The black and white American flag featuring a thin blue stripe has been a controversial symbol seen by many as a point of opposition to Black Lives Matter and other racial justice groups. U.S. District Judge Karen Marston ruled that the prohibition of the flag's display violated the protection of free speech.

Flight Club darts bar to open in Center City next summer

Flight Club, a new darts bar, is coming to Philadelphia in 2024 inside the historic Stock Exchange building at 1417 Walnut St. in Center City. The tech-driven concept uses an automatic scoring system that encourages more socializing. Philadelphia will be the seventh U.S. city where the London-based bar is expanding. Over the last five years, Flight Club locations have opened in Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Las Vegas and Denver.

Lyme disease cases are increasing in Pennsylvania partly due to land development that clears forests, scientists say. Clearing woodlands makes people more prone to tick bites and giving ticks fewer options for hosts. Pennsylvania's 8,413 confirmed Lyme disease cases last year led the nation for the 11th time in the last 12 years.
