Scooter rider inappropriately touching women at Temple University, police warn

Temple University police are an investigating a string of incidents involving a man on a motorized scooter who has inappropriately touched women on several occasions over the last four weeks, authorities said. Students are advised to be aware of their surroundings, walk in groups and request a walking escort when necessary.

Artisan Boulanger Patissier owners get crowdfunding support in cancer battles

A GoFundMe campaign is raising money to support Andre Chin and Amanda Eap, the owners of South Philadelphia's beloved Artisan Boulanger Patissier. Chin and Eap are battling prostate cancer and breast cancer, respectively, and have temporarily closed the shop on Mifflin Street as they seek treatment. Both owners have been James Beard Award semifinalists on multiple occasions.

Philadelphia police say there has been a spike in stolen vehicles, car break-ins and other theft crimes in the vicinity of the Museum of Art and along Kelly Drive, as well as elsewhere in the department's Ninth District. Motorcycles and scooters have especially been targeted this year, police said.

A Pennsylvania woman in need of a kidney transplant was denied by Geisinger Health Network over her refusal to get vaccinated against COVID-19. The 40-year-old mother from Lycoming County has been on dialysis and waited for an organ for nearly seven years, but her fear of complications from the vaccine will now prevent her from getting the life-saving surgery through Geisinger's transplant program.

Pottstown man killed wife, self in murder-suicide, investigators say

Carla Forde, of Pottstown, was beaten and fatally shot Monday morning by her husband, Edward Thornton, who then took his own life, according to Pottstown police and Montgomery County detectives. Investigators said the incident was preceded by a history of domestic violence.
