Former Warrington police officer James Carey, 52, allegedly assaulted at least four boys while serving as a D.A.R.E. officer in Bucks County, prosecutors said Wednesday. The alleged crimes dated back 25 years. Prosecutors filed charges following a lengthy investigation and an inquiry by a Bucks County investigating grand jury.

Philadelphia will make COVID-19 vaccine appointments available to all people age 16 and older on April 19. Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley is asking healthy younger residents to consider delaying their appointments in order to allow vulnerable populations to get vaccinated first.

An affordable housing development led by Project HOME in Kensington has received funding approval from the Philadelphia Housing Authority. The project will include 54 efficiency apartments at 115 East Huntingdon Street for people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or recovering from a substance use disorder.

One man was injured Tuesday when a home on the 6300 block of Algard Street in Northeast Philadelphia exploded and caught fire, according to police. The victim was hospitalized and the cause of the explosion is under investigation with the Fire Marshal's Office.

The body of 21-year-old Dianna Brice was found Monday night in a wooded area of Southwest Philadelphia. Brice, who was pregnant, had been missing from Upper Darby since March 30 after she was last seen with her boyfriend, 23-year-old Justin Smith, who still has not been found.

Authorities in Upper Darby are searching for 21-year-old Dianna Brice and 23-year-old Justin Smith, who were last seen together on March 30, 2021. Smith's car was found on fire in Southwest Philadelphia that afternoon, investigators said. Brice is 14 weeks pregnant and has a four-year-old son.
