Philadelphia police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that killed on man and injured a woman on April 10 in the Grays Ferry section of the city. Police opened fire on the two suspects after the woman pointed a gun at them, authorities said.

SEPTA officials will not require passengers to wear masks or facial coverings in order to ride it's busses and trains, but they are strongly encouraging people to show courtesy to drivers and other passengers. The requirement was removed after a viral video showed Philadelphia police forcibly remove a man from a bus in Center City.

Thomas Anthony Martocci, 66, allegedly shot and killed 58-year-old Kenneth Knibiehly on April 6, 2020 in Penn Forest Township. The former Roseto borough councilman was motivated by revenge and jealousy over a woman, according to investigators.

Pennsylvania schools will remain closed for the rest of the academic 2019-2020 year amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The move affects all of Pennsylvania's public K-12 schools, brick-and-mortar and cyber-charter schools, private and parochial schools, career and technical centers and intermediate units. Districts are encouraged to provide continuity of learning to students using digital and non-digital resources provided by the state.
