The First Niagara Center in Buffalo, NY hosted Raw on Monday night, and some of the show felt like a go-home show to a pay-per-view. It felt that way simply because the event from Madison Square Garden this coming Saturday will be broadcast live on the WWE Network, so they pushed that show a lot on this episode of Raw.

The American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, TX hosted SmackDown this week, as we now move toward October’s Hell in a Cell event. While not officially announced yet, I’d imagine we will see a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Seth Rollins and Kane to accompany the Hell in a Cell match between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.

Houston’s Toyota Center welcomed WWE’s Night of Champions on Sunday night, less than an hour after the Eagles were embarrassed at Lincoln Financial Field by the Dallas Cowboys. I went into this show in a depressed state and probably was more critical about what I watched than I would be had the Eagles not pulled off that atrocious performance earlier in the day.

Arkansas' Verizon Arena was the last stop before WWE invades Houston on Sunday for Night of Champions. Since the WWE World Heavyweight Champion tapped out to one of his opponents on Sunday night this past Monday on Raw, due to a weird-looking Scorpion Death Lock by Sting, one would assume the last television show before the event would make the champion look good.

Every September, WWE’s Night of Champions has the unfortunate responsibility of following up the biggest party of the summer, SummerSlam, but this year they’ve tried to outdo themselves. Having Sting vie for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, John Cena trying to regain the United States Championship, Seth Rollins pulling double duty, and the possibility of Kevin Owens winning his first championship as a member of the main roster, this card has the ability to be one of the best Night of Champions events ever.

The season premiere of Monday Night Raw was held at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN and WWE pulled out all the stops in an attempt to rival ESPN’s Monday Night Football, including having Sting wrestle his first match ever for WWE on cable television.

This week’s SmackDown from the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and we saw the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and Intercontinental Champion in another Champion vs. Champion match – this time with Lumberjacks. Cesaro and Miz got to finish their match from Raw, Jimmy Uso was back in action while he waits for his brother to recover from shoulder surgery earlier this year, and The New Day was again amazing as usual.
