South Jersey’s Down & Derby Wine Festival returns May 3

On Sunday, May 3, the 2025 Down & Derby Wine Festival will bring the region’s top wineries to Veterans Island in Cooper River Park for a day of tastings, live entertainment, delicious food, and derby-themed activities. The festival is a proud partnership between the Camden County Board of Commissioners and Visit South Jersey, a destination marketing organization for much of the South Jersey region.

Attendees will enjoy tastings of over 20 award-winning wines from South Jersey’s top wineries. And with GoodMan Fiske Band and The Lally Brothers Band performing live, this year’s festival promises an unforgettable day of music, food, games, and more!

“The Down and Derby Wine Festival showcases all of the wonderful food and wine offerings the South Jersey region has to offer,” Commissioner Jeffrey Nash said. “Each year, this event becomes more and more popular, so we invite all of our residents to join us on May 3 at Veterans Island for a day full of delicious wine, local food and live music.”

Here’s what to expect at this year’s festival:

Wines from South Jersey’s finest vineyards

Sample wines from South Jersey’s best wineries, including Tomasello Winery, Valenzano Winery, Villari Vineyards, Wagon House Winery, White Horse Winery, Auburn Road Vineyards, Plagido’s Winery, Sharrott Winery, Summit City Winery, and Saddlehill Winery.

Live music

The festival will feature performances by the GoodMan Fiske Band and The Lally Brothers Band, two crowd favorites known for their energetic sets and festival-ready sound.

Delicious food

A variety of local food trucks will be serving up mouthwatering options, from quick bites to indulgent meals that are perfect for pairing with your favorite glass of wine!

Derby fashion and prizes

In true Derby fashion, guests are encouraged to come dressed to impress. Prizes will be awarded throughout the day for standout outfits, so break out your bold hats, bowties, and springtime best. Tickets

General admission tickets for the festival cost $35. A VIP experience is also available for $110 and includes a special gift and access to a VIP tent with food offerings. Designated drivers can attend the event for $15. Get your tickets now.
