Celebrate Ben Franklin's birthday with a toast

Historic Philadelphia honors the Founding Father with a special pub crawl

Benjamin Franklin doesn't look a day over 309.

Historic Philadelphia's weekly Tippler's Tour Colonial Pub Crawl has a special theme this weekend, Jan. 23 and 24. In celebration of Founding Father Benjamin Franklin's birthday, Jan. 17, 1706, you can join a pub crawl with the man himself - and he doesn't look a day over 309.

Franklin will sing songs and tell stories as you travel around Old City, hitting up four pubs and learning about Philadelphia's beer-making history. Of course, to aid your imbibing, there will be snacks along the way.

The two-hour tour departs from the Historic Philadelphia Center in the evening. Why not make a day of it and take a quick tour of Independence Mall before your pub crawl begins?

Be sure to buy your tickets early - last weekend's tour sold out!
