Cosmetics chain Sephora is gearing up to launch a test run of a subscription-based service that will send collections of its products to the doorsteps of customers for a monthly fee of $10.

The Paris-based company aims to compete with companies like Birchbox and Ipsy with its Play! By Sephora subscriptions, which will appear in September in Boston, Cincinnati and Columbus before expanding, Harpers-Bazaar reports.

The first box will reportedly include products from Mark Jacobs, Ole Henrikson, Bumble and bumble, Glamglow, and Sephora's in-house brand, as well as a few other goodies like Spotify playlists.

Every month, the company plans to switch up themes, such as skin care or cosmetics, and subscribers will be able to show up at a physical store to learn how to use the samples and gain access to exclusive events.
