DeMarco Murray was ranked as the 4th-best player in the NFL by his peers in the NFL's Top 100 list. Previously, Eagles RB/returner Darren Sproles came in at number 81, and OLB Connor Barwin was listed at 58th, and Jason Peters ranked 40th. Here's the video NFL.com put together of Murray:
Here's what his peers had to say about him:
• J.J. Watt, DE, Texans: He runs the ball very hard. He runs downhill. He brings power. When he puts his foot in the ground and gets up-field, he gets going and he's tough to stop.
• Tyler Clutts, FB, Cowboys: We call them dirty runs. You know, three (yards), four, two, five, and then he pops one for twelve.
• Jon Beason, LB, Giants: The beauty about DeMarco Murray is that he's an outside and inside guy. So he'll get you the tough yards, and he also has that ability to bounce outside. And if he breaks, those DBs are going to have to get on their horse.
• Ryan Miller, OG, Cowboys: You couldn't stop him. He was a freight train. He's going downhill with no breaks. He can make a two inch hole blow wide open.
• Connor Barwin, OLB, Eagles: If you're chasing him backside you better be ready. I remember we had about a 300+ pound D lineman chasing him and kind of wasn't exactly ready, and DeMarco put his foot in the ground, got north, and the lineman just got flat on his back.
• Andre Williams, RB, Giants: He doesn't hesitate. He gets there and if it doesn't turn out how it was supposed to he makes something happen anyway.
In case you missed it, we did a detailed comparison of Murray and LeSean McCoy.
