Driver tells cops he was eating burger before car crash – report

Court appearance scheduled for Wednesday morning

When Haddon Township police arrived at the scene of a recent accident, they found two cars pulled off to the side at West Park and Cuthbert boulevards.

Leaning on a vehicle that sustained significant damage was Collingswood resident Brendan R. Dugan, 43.

As first reported in the Retrospect, a local weekly, Dugan he allegedly told the officer he did not know how the November 15 wreck happened.

Dugan, 43, apparently told the cop he was eating a hamburger at the time of the crash.

A copy of the accident report was requested by PhillyVoice but not yet provided by township police.

Copies of three municipal court summonses issued to Dugan suggest something other than a burger may have been involved, however.

In addition to citations for careless driving and not wearing a seatbelt, Dugan was cited for driving under the influence.

On Wednesday he'll get the opportunity to tell it to a judge.

He has a municipal court appearance scheduled for 10 a.m.
