Things are going from bad to worse for the Eagles. Pro Bowl left guard Landon Dickerson is undergoing thumb surgery on Wednesday, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
This is a new development. Dickerson played in 68 of 69 offensive snaps on Monday night against the Seahawks, missing just one play while he dealt with a helmet issue.
Dickerson has racked up injuries since his collegiate career, but those were lower-body ailments. Garafolo goes on to state that Dickerson won't be placed on IR, which hopefully for the Eagles' case, means that he misses only a game or two as the Birds look to lock down the NFC East.
Entrenched right guard Cam Jurgens has been activated off IR, but did not play in Week 15 in Seattle. Sua Opeta filled in for him. Opeta is the next man up at guard. If both Jurgens and Dickerson are out for Week 16, prepare for rookie Tyler Steen to get a starting nod at one of the guard spots.
