Live updates/open thread from the Eagles' 24-15 victory over the Falcons

Doug Pederson described last week's matchup against the New York Giants as a "must win." And win the Eagles didn't. This week, sitting at 4-4 at the bottom of the NFC East, the Eagles will take on the Atlanta Falcons. Seeing as the Birds will travel to Seattle next week and have the hardest remaining schedule in the NFL, there is no longer all that much room for error if they are going to be playoff contenders.

Eight Eagles players appear on the injury report this week, the highest total of the season so far. For the second straight week, the Eagles will be without starting LG Allen Barbre. The Falcons will be without a trio of key players in CB Desmond Trufant, RB Tevin Coleman, and TE Jacob Tamme. You can find the updated injury report with analysis here.

The Falcons have the No. 1 offense in the NFL. Matt Ryan is a legitimate MVP candidate, while Julio Jones is as explosive as ever. However, the Falcons have a porous defense, and have had to outscore opponents in shootouts to get to 6-3. Here are our five matchups to watch.

This matchup had interesting movement on the point spread this week. The Eagles opened as one-point favorites, but the line has since shifted to the Falcons taking over as one-point favorites, with the line climbing to as high as Falcons minus two at one point during the week. Our writers are mixed in our game predictions

For quick reference, the NFC East standings heading into Week 10:
