Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle on Roosevelt Boulevard

Victim pronounced dead after suffering severe head and leg injuries

A 66-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday afternoon in the Olney section of Philadelphia after stepping into the roadway on Roosevelt Boulevard.

According to authorities, the accident occurred in the southbound lanes at around 2 p.m., 6 ABC reports.

The victim was rushed to Einstein Medical Center, where he died after sustaining severe head and leg injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and cooperated with authorties.

No charges have been filed.
