Police: Gunman strikes teen in West Philadelphia double shooting

Investigators say teen may have been an innocent bystander in attack

Philadelphia police are investigating after a gunman opened fire Wednesday afternoon on a teenager and another victim in West Philadelphia.

According to authorities, the shooting occurred at around 5:45 p.m. on the 4000 block of Green Street, NBC 10 reports.

Police said the gunman struck a 16-year-old boy once in the right knee and once in the right foot, while a 25-year-old man was struck once in the head and once in the right forearm. Both victims were taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital, where the 25-year-old was listed in critical condition. The teen's condition was not immediately available.

According to investigators, the teenager may have been an innocent bystander in the shooting.

No arrests have been made and police have not yet determined a motive in the attack. Anyone with information about the shooting or the location of the suspect is asked to contact the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-3060.
