Police began asking the public for help Friday identifying a man in connection with a robbery and carjacking at gunpoint in the East Germantown section of Philadelphia.

The incident occurred April 17 around 10:30 a.m. on the 300 block of Rittenhouse Street.

Authorities say an 18-year-old male parked his vehicle, a 2013 white Nissan Altima sedan, on the street where he met a man by the name of D'Shawn.

Both men entered Jacuez Grocery on the 5900 block of Morton Street where the 18-year-old used an ATM machine and D'Shawn used his cell phone.

When the 18-year-old returned to his vehicle, he was approached by two men with handguns.

One of the suspects stole the victim's wallet while the second suspect and D'Shawn fled the scene.

The victim was ordered to leave the area and the suspect drove away in the victim's vehicle, which was later recovered on the 2700 block of North 47th Street.

Police list D'Shawn as a person of interest. He is described as a 5-foot-8 black man, between the ages of 18 and 23, with a dark complexion, a "low haircut" and a light mustache. He has "Love" tattooed on his bicep and another tattoo on his right forearm.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Northwest Detective Division at (215) 686-3353.
