Riley Cooper gets a tryout

Racial slurring / blocking wide receiver Riley Cooper is getting a tryout to make an NFL team this offseason. Don't worry, it's not with the Philadelphia Eagles. It's with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to NFL Insider Adam Caplan.

Prior to the 2013 season, a video of Cooper screaming racial slurs at a Kenny Chesney concert emerged, but head coach Chip Kelly elected to keep Cooper on the roster after he attended counseling for a whopping four days. On the field that year, Cooper's presence on the roster paid off, as he had something of a breakout season, catching 47 passes for 835 yards and 8 TDs. Off the field, numerous players resented Cooper's presence on the team.

Cooper's on-field performance came back down to earth in 2014 and 2015, with the team making the extremely easy decision to cut him during the 2016 offseason.

Cooper has not had any reported workouts with any team since, until Caplan's report today.
