Sean Brace out as host at 97.5 The Fanatic; Anthony Gargano in?

Sean Brace, who has held a variety of roles from producer to host at 97.5 The Fanatic since he began there in 2008, has been let go by the station.

Multiple sources close to the situation confirmed to PhillyVoice that this tweet from Brace was indeed in reference to the fact that he will no longer be involved with the station.

Most recently, Brace has served as co-host, along with Jon Marks, of the Jon and Sean Show, which aired weekdays from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The Fanatic's webpage for that show, which began in February of 2013, has already been changed to feature just Marks, with no mention of Brace anywhere.

On Wednesday, speculation that former WIP host Anthony Gargano would be joining The Fanatic, Philly’s ESPN Radio affiliate, reached a tipping point when Gargano opened their afternoon show in place of regular host Mike Missanelli. This was, of course, an April Fools joke, but with the sudden dismissal of Brace on Thursday, it will certainly fuel further speculation that Gargano is indeed poised to return.

Kyle Scott over at Crossing Broad also wrote that the producer of the Jon and Sean Show, Steve Vassilotti, has also been let go. If that is indeed true, it could be another sign of big changes at the station. Why? Because if someone with a name as big as Gargano's is joining the station, it's not uncommon for him to bring his own producer, or at least have his pick from those already at the station.

Gargano left SportsRadio 94 WIP in December after 15 years at the station and Wednesday's appearance on Missanelli's show was the first we'd heard from "Cuz" since his departure from The Fanatic's local rival.
