The Philadelphia Zoo's annual 5K and one-mile fun run returns on Sunday, April 28. Both race courses run through the zoo, and proceeds benefit the 1,900 animals at the zoo. Entry for the 5K begins at $40. Registration is open through April 22.

A vandal smashed several stained glass windows at Mother Bethel AME Church in Philadelphia, police said. The church is located on the oldest parcel of land continuously owned by Black people in the U.S. It was built in 1890. The police investigation is ongoing.

The Please Touch Museum will renovate its historic Memorial Hall building ahead of the historical site's 150th anniversary and America's 250th birthday in 2026. The marble floors will be replaced and facade repaired, at a cost of $4.2 million. A special 1876 reflection space will explain the building's use during the World's Fair.
