Philadelphia's Mütter Museum has been undergoing an ethical review of its medical oddities, including preserved human remains. The museum's leadership has launched a new public engagement project, "Postmortem: Mütter Museum," that will include town hall discussions, workshops and other feedback methods. Organizers behind a petition called Protect the Mütter say the museum's new leaders are undermining the medical history museum's heritage and appeal.

Korshak Bagels, the acclaimed South Philly bagel shop, will close for good on Sept. 24. Owner Phil Korshak shared a letter on Instagram explaining that the business can no longer function as it was intended to operate. It opened in 2020 at 1700 S. 10th St. The shop's last day of business will be Sunday, Sept. 24.

The 27 Boston Market restaurants that were shut down for labor violations in New Jersey last month are allowed to reopen, state officials said. The company repaid more than $630,000 to 314 workers who had gone months without receiving the wages they were owed.

Red Lion Diner in Southampton, New Jersey has permanently closed and will be replaced by a Super Wawa. The diner has been near the Red Lion Circle at the intersection of Route 70 and Route 206 for the last 50 years. The owners said they had planned to build a new diner there, but the economic landscape since the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted those plans.

A Drexel University exhibit about Philadelphia's Electric Factory concert venue will showcase photos, posters, guitars and other mementos that tell the story of how a group of promoters shaped the live music scene in the city and beyond. The exhibition will run from Sept. 22 through Dec. 30 at the Paul Peck Alumni Center Gallery.

The search for escaped murderer Danelo Cavalcante has prompted Dog the Bounty Hunter to consider joining the manhunt in Chester County. The reality TV star has reached out to police to learn more about the search, TMZ reported. Cavalcante, 34, escaped Chester County Prison on Aug. 31 and is now believed to be armed.

One of two flamingos observed at a pond in south-central Pennsylvania was injured by a snapping turtle Monday morning, according to the Pennsylvania Game Commission. The bird is undergoing rehab and game wardens hope to reunite it with its mate. The flamingos were blown off course after Hurricane Idalia swept through Florida in late August. Flamingos have been spotted in 10 other states north of their natural habitats.

Eleni Cavalcante, the sister of escaped killer Danelo Cavalcante, could be deported from the United States after she was detained by federal ICE agents on Sunday. Authorities said Monday that she refused to cooperate with investigators in their search for Cavalcante after he broke out of Chester County Prison on Aug. 31. Cavalcante was last seen Saturday night on a Ring doorbell camera in East Nantmeal Township, where he had gone to seek out a former associate for help.
