Snapping turtle at Pa. pond injures flamingo displaced by Hurricane Idalia
One of two flamingos observed at a pond in south-central Pennsylvania was injured by a snapping turtle Monday morning, according to the Pennsylvania Game Commission. The bird is undergoing rehab and game wardens hope to reunite it with its mate. The flamingos were blown off course after Hurricane Idalia swept through Florida in late August. Eleni Cavalcante, the sister of escaped killer Danelo Cavalcante, could be deported from the United States after she was detained by federal ICE agents on Sunday. Authorities said Monday that she refused to cooperate with investigators in their search for Cavalcante after he broke out of Chester County Prison on Aug. 31.
