South Philly traffic roundabout planned to improve road safety at busy intersection
Philadelphia has plans to build a new traffic roundabout at the busy South Philly intersection of 20th Street, Penrose, Moyamensing and Packer Avenues. Construction on the project is expected to begin as soon as the summer of 2022 and could take a few years to complete. Ryan Jastrzembski, an 11-year-old Mount Laurel boy, suffered severe burns after he caught fire in an incident involving a backyard bonfire on Monday evening. The boy poured gasoline on the bonfire, causing the gas can to explode as his body was covered in flames, police said. A bald eagle slammed into and crashed the front window of a home in Whitehall Township on Tuesday, becoming the latest unusual incident involving an animal in Pennsylvania. Between a truck full of lab monkeys crashing in Danville and a mystery canine being rescued in Westmoreland County, the latest incident in the Lehigh Valley continues the odd trend. The eagle left the scene of the incident under its own power and likely was drawn to the window by a reflection or a light.January 26, 2022

Woman falls ill after exposure to monkeys at Pennsylvania crash site
A Pennsylvania woman is receiving medical treatment after she came into contact with monkeys after a truck crash in Danville, where several long-tailed macaques escaped from a trailer and resulted in an extensive search. Son of Philly police officer fatally shot during apparent robbery, D.A. says
Philadelphia police are investigating the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Hyram Hill, the son of a Philadelphia police officer who was killed early Monday morning near the corner of Broad Street and Allegheny Avenue.
