Conviction vacated in 2013 Beats headphones murder case because of Philly detective's 'egregious' misconduct
Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner announced Friday that a conviction was vacated in court for a man who was sentenced to life in prison for a 2013 murder. The case, well-known as a deadly attempted robbery over Beats by Dre headphones, was compromised by official misconduct from former Philadelphia detective Philip Nordo, who was fired in 2017 and will be tried this fall on a slew of charges. Arkel Garcia, who was convicted of killing 21-year-old Christian Massey, had the sentence vacated in Common Pleas Court following an investigation by Krasner's office.June 3, 2021

A large minke whae skull washed ashore at Island Beach State Park on the Barnegat Peninsula in New Jersey on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Officials have identified the species as a minke whale, likely the same whale that was buried at the park last June.
