Severe thunderstorms caused widespread power outages in the Philadelphia region and prompted SEPTA to suspend Regional Rail service on Thursday. As of Friday, nearly 150,000 PECO customers were still without power. And the National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat watch beginning Monday.
