The Mayor’s Cup Championship Runs, which goes through Belmont Plateau and various sections of West Fairmount Park, will result in multiple roads being closed this Saturday.
The Strawberry Mansion Bridge, Ford Road to the park boundaries of the bridge, Chamounix Drive to Belmont Mansion Drive and Greenland Drive, and Belmont Drive to Montgomery Drive and Belmont Avenue all will be shut down during the race from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Additionally, Kelly Drive will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 pm. for the Bayada Regatta. Southbound Kelly Drive traffic will be detoured from Strawberry Mansion Bridge to Fountain Green Drive via Reservoir Drive, and northbound traffic will be detoured along the same route up Fountain Green Drive.
Then next week, the section of I-676 between I-76 and Broad Street will be closed in both directions Tuesday through Thursday from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., PennDot announced in a news release Thursday.
The closure is due to bridge construction that is part of a four-year, $64.8 million project to replace seven structurally deficient bridges over I-676, along with landscaping and streetscape improvements between 18th and 22nd streets.
Next week's closures will allow workers to take down the old deck from a section of the 20th Street Bridge.
