WATCH: Sufjan Stevens covers Drake's 'Hotline Bling' in New Jersey

Indie rocker channels Drizzy's dance moves during show

Indie rocker Sufjan Stevens and rap superstar Drake may seem like uncommon musical bedfellows, but the former channelled the latter during a performance in New Jersey Saturday night.

In a video posted to YouTube, Stevens can be seen covering Drake's hit song "Hotline Bling" to laughs and cheers at his show at the Loew's Jersey Theatre in Jersey City.

Stevens, arguably best known for the song "Chicago" off of his 2005 album Illinois, seems to channel Drizzy with his dance moves while covering the song with rapper Gallant. Watch the performance here:

"Hotline Bling," which immediately shot up the charts following its July release, took on a second wave of popularity after the music video for the single featuring Drake grooving to his own beat debuted in October, inspiring countless memes, vines and gifs. Like this one of Drake playing Wii Tennis, for example:

Comparing the the Jersey City show to Drake's video (minus the tennis), Stevens' impression of Drake is pretty spot on.
