If you're reading this, like us, you are desperate for information about a rumored Bryce Harper deal to the Phillies being close.
We've seen sources and reports throughout the last 24 hours saying things were close, but not finalized and based on the last four months of inactivity on the Harper and Manny Machado front, it's hard to really believe any tweets or stories on the matter until the deal actually gets done.
But for what it's worth, here are some of the latest pieces of news on Harper, who may actually be on the verge of signing a deal to play right field for the Phillies:
While the Phillies have made progress and are seen as the favorite for Harper, especially with the self-proclaimed stupid money, several teams are said to still involved, including both the Giants and Padres.

Bryce Harper, who has been waiting for someone to meet his price, appears to have found that team in the #Phillies. There is no deal yet but he will ultimately receive more than the 10-year, $300 million contract he turned down from the #Nats in September.

One interesting dynamic to the Harper/Machado market: 3 prime teams have shown interest in both stars — the Phillies, Padres and White Sox. Phillies have been confident they’ll land 1 of the stars, but at least 1 of these teams will be shut out.

The Padres, like the Phillies too have offered a deal to their free agent prize, as the Machado saga may also be nearing a conclusion:
I don’t know the years. But my understanding is offer to Machado is for more than $250 million. https://t.co/kSkJo5DVwo

Position players are officially reporting for the Phillies today, as they prepare for spring training games to begin this coming Friday. It makes sense that teams involved would be quite eager to have their entire team fielded when live pitching and hitting finally begins.
