Recap: Eagles beat Cowboys in season finale

The year 2016 is now in the books, and so too will the Philadelphia Eagles' 2016 season sometime around 4:15 p.m. today, as the Birds will play what essentially amounts to a meaningless game Week 17 for the third straight season, this time against the Dallas Cowboys.

When the Cowboys released their injury report on Friday, it included seven prominent players who were listed as "out," as Dallas has clearly chosen to give a little extra rest to some guys who are a little banged up before the playoffs. The Eagles could see all three of the Cowboys' quarterbacks – Dak Prescott, Tony Romo, and a healthy dose of old friend Mark Sanchez.

The Eagles are four-point favorites in this game as a result. I see a meaningless Eagles win, as does the rest of our staff.

For the gambling degenerates, you can find my Week 17 picks here. Here is this week's slate of games:

Early afternoon:

  1. Ravens at Bengals
  2. Texans at Titans
  3. Panthers at Buccaneers
  4. Jaguars at Colts
  5. Patri*ts at Dolphins
  6. Bears at Vikings
  7. Bills at Jets
  8. Browns at Steelers

Late afternoon:

  1. Saints at Falcons
  2. Giants at Redskins
  3. Cardinals at Rams
  4. Raiders at Broncos
  5. Chiefs at Chargers
  6. Seahawks at 49ers

Sunday night:

  1. Packers at Lions
The game of obvious interest to the Eagles is Bears at Vikings, as the Eagles own the Vikings' first round pick. If the Vikings lose, that pick can end up as high as ninth overall. If they win, it can drop to as low as 18th overall.
