Dog owners on the Main Line are on edge after an alleged string of attempted dognappings, CBSPhilly reports.
Sumanth Joseph, of Ardmore, told the station that he saw two people in a gold Honda CRV try to snatch his dog, Willie, from the front yard of his home around 5:15 p.m. on March 18. Joseph confronted the couple, who said that they thought it was a neighbor's dog.
A few days later, Joseph saw a flier posted in town that said, "Protect your dog now!!! Dogs are being taken from front yards."

The anonymous flier, dated March 22, claimed that five dogs in the Main Line area had been posted as missing, though it is unclear whether those dogs were stolen or ran away.
"I watched in disbelief as our dog was being lured into a small to midsize tan sedan by a man and a woman," the flier said. "Now we realize we're very lucky to catch them in the act because we would have thought our dog ran away never to be seen again. Since then five dogs in the area have been posted as missing."
The author of the flier said that he or she lives in Audubon, Montgomery County, which is around 14 miles away from Ardmore.
