A woman reacts after her boyfriend pops the question during Matty Mac's music video for "The Proposal."

A man told his girlfriend that his cousin, Philadelphia musician Matty Mac, needed a couple for his latest music video.

What he didn't tell her was that the filming would end with an engagement.

Mac's cousin Sam had known his girlfriend Jess since he was 10 years old. While she hinted at wanting to get married, Sam was already in the process of planning a proposal.

Sam asked his cousin, singer-songwriter Matty Mac, to help him orchestrate popping the question. Jess, who thinks she's just starring in the video, is taken back with emotions when the song ends (Spoiler alert: She says yes).

The video was shot in Love Park in Center City and Gervasi's restraint in Paulsboro, New Jersey. Along with those locations, the video is cut with footage from their long relationship.

Mac, 24, told FOX 29 that he wrote the song specifically for them after Sam asked for his help:

“I knew that this was going to be a very special occasion and I would need a song that was going to live up to the feeling and emotions that would capture in that moment."

The video was published May, 22 and has been viewed more than 200,000 times. You can download "The Proposal" on iTunes or listen to it on Spotify
