On Saturday, Dec. 9, watch from the banks of the Delaware River as boats decorated in twinkling, colorful lights sail past.

The annual Parade of Lights is a family-friendly holiday tradition in Philly. It will take place at 5:30 p.m. and is free to view.

If you want an upgraded view of the parade, however, head to the Independence Seaport Museum.

The museum will be hosting a variety of holiday activities, beginning at 11 a.m. Families can make ornaments, decorate gingerbread boats, meet with Santa, learn how fake snow is made and create miniature snow globes.

When its time for the parade, head to the museum's second-floor terrace. There will be warm, seasonal beverages and food available at the Holiday Hut.

Admission to the museum is $12 for children, college students, military members and seniors. The price is $16 for adults.
