Bike patrol officers discover bones beneath tarp on N. 17th Street

Philadelphia police are investigating after human remains were found Tuesday night in the Tioga section of North Philadelphia.

According to authorities, human bones were discovered by bike patrol officers beneath a blue tarp in a lot on North 17th Street, CBS 3 reports.

Investigators also recovered clothing and a pair of women's sneakers at the scene.

The remains were sent to the Medical Examiner for analysis, however no cause of death or time frame has been determined in the victim's passing.
