Fourth Annual Yuengling Oktoberfest 5k will take place Oct. 8.
The fourth annual Yuengling Oktoberfest 5K will take place on Sunday, Oct. 8. Registration for the race, which participants are invited to run, jog or walk, is now open.
While the fall 5K might seem far off, don't wait too long to register. Only 2,500 people will be able to snag a bib.
The fitness event will coincide with ArtsQuest's 2017 Oktoberfest celebration at Bethlehem's SteelStacks.
The race begins and ends on the Oktoberfest grounds, where there will be German food, polka music, dachshund races and other live entertainment and beer.
The course will also feature German-themed entertainment. For example, one of the oldest traditional German dance troupes in North America will perform for runners.
Once across the finish line, participants who are 21 and over will receive one free Yuengling Oktoberfest beer.
Runners will receive a beer stein, T-shirt and free admission to the Oktoberfest celebration, too.
A portion of the proceeds from each registration fee will go directly to ArtsQuest to help fund its mission of engaging and revitalizing communities in the Lehigh Valley through arts programs and cultural events.
