Authorities are investigating the death of a New Jersey man as a homicide after his remains were discovered in North Carolina.

Police in Greensboro said Wednesday they've identified the body discovered in a vacant building as that of Bangaly Fofana, 24, of East Orange. Fofana was entered into the national database of missing persons on Dec. 3.

Fofana's remains were found in an overgrown area inside the vacant property on Monday afternoon.

Detectives believe Fofana may have been traveling to Greensboro on a business trip. Authorities are withholding the cause of death at this time in an effort to help identify the person or persons responsible for the homicide.
