Rookie quarterback Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles may want to forget Sunday's loss to the New York Giants, but a retired New Jersey police officer will remember it for the rest of his life.

The New Jersey State Police Department shared the video showing retired trooper Brian Malast proposing to his girlfriend, Julie Herb, before the game at MetLife Stadium. She accepted.

His fellow officers provided an assist to carry out the surprise.

In 2005, Malast was stationed in Bordentown, Burlington County when he was critically injured in a car accident while on duty.

Malast was able to celebrate more good news after the Giants beat the Eagles, 28-23.
