SEPTA resumes West Trenton Line service after person fatally struck by train in Montgomery County

A SEPTA Regional Rail train at Jefferson Station.

A person was fatally struck by a southbound SEPTA Regional Rail train Monday afternoon in the Jenkintown area, prompting the agency to suspend service along its West Trenton Line for several hours.

SEPTA officials said the incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on the tracks near Rydal Station, which is located at 1470 Susquehanna Road.


The delay continued until shortly after 4 p.m., when SEPTA announced service had been restored.


Circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately available, and the identity of the victim has not been released. An accident investigation remains ongoing.
