South Jersey twin sisters give birth to baby boys on same day

The world often works in mysterious ways, like winding up on the same flight as someone you know, or the uncanny story of Joseph Figlock, the man who caught the same baby falling out of a Detroit window twice in as many years.

Last Friday, Toms River welcomed two little miracles when twin sisters Danielle Grant and Kim Abraham both gave birth to baby boys on the same day at the same hospital.

The fraternal twins, 32, created a scene among nurses at Ocean Medical Center in Brick Township, according to the Asbury Park Press.

Grant described what happened as a "total coincidence," adding that nothing had been planned beyond both sisters wanting to have babies. But when they both surpassed their matching April 22 due date, the sisters coordinated with doctors to be induced on the same date.

Abraham gave birth to 9-pound, 12-ounce Aaron and Grant gave birth to 8-pound, 12-ounce Roman.

A local mathematician at Brookdale Community College told the newspaper the odds of twin sisters giving birth on the same day are roughly eight in 100,000.
