Philadelphia police and Airbnb investigated a woman's claim that a property she rented in the city contained hidden cameras in the property's ceilings and sprinklers. The investigation found there were no hidden or undisclosed cameras inside the home. The woman had shared her story Sunday night on Twitter, but did not disclose the location of the rental. Airbnb has suspended the account of the property's host amid an ongoing investigation into the incident. The company said it will still provide the woman with a refund.

Al Scmidt, a former Philadelphia City Commissioner, testified at Monday's hearing before the U.S. House Select Committee on the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection. Schmidt received threats in the weeks following the 2020 presidential election after former President Donald Trump singled him out in a tweet falsely alleging voter fraud. Monday's hearings included testimony from long-time Trump ally and former campaign manager Bill Stepian, former Fox News political editor Chris Stirewalt, elections attorney Benjamin Ginsburg and former Atlanta federal prosecutor BJay Pak.

SEPTA police are searching for a man who assaulted a SEPTA custodian early Monday morning inside the Broad Street Line's Walnut-Locust Station in Center City. The woman told investigators a man punched her after she attempted to sweep beneath the bench where he had been sleeping. There is as $1,000 reward for information leading to the man's arrest.

Joseph Rodriguez, 22, was charged Monday with homicide in the death of Francis Decero, 25, whose body was found in South Philly in early May. Decero had been reported missing by his family. Police said he had been been beaten and shot three times.

A family's dog was fatally shot by a neighbor Friday morning in the Magnolia Hill section of Levittown, authorities said. The neighbor told police that he was walking his German shepherd when an American bulldog escaped its owners' yard and attacked his dog. The man, who had a license to carry a firearm, shot the American bulldog once causing fatal injuries. The incident is under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.

Giant will open a new Philadelphia supermarket at Broad and Spring Garden streets on June 24, 2022. Another store will open in Richboro, Bucks County on July 1. Giant is in the midst of an aggressive expansion in Philadelphia and the surrounding region after opening four stores in the city last year, including its urban flagship in Logan Square.
