Philadelphia's Trocadero Theatre, the historic Chinatown music venue, has received a $2.5 million grant from the state to undergo a complete renovation that will include a revived concert hall and a restaurant. The Troc closed in 2019 after several years of financial struggles. The building, located at 1003 Arch Ave., is listed on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places and the National Register of Historic Places.

The Glassboro Camden Line is a proposed transit project in South Jersey that would bring a diesel, light rail route to an 18-mile stretch that runs from Glassboro in Gloucester County north to Camden. The proposed project would include 14 new stops along an existing Conrail line, expanding accessibility in the Philadelphia-Camden metro area. The project has announced that a joint venture, South Jersey Transit Partners, will oversee preliminary engineering and design and project management for the next phase, which is expected to last three years.

The Nothnagle log cabin in Gloucester County, New Jersey is considered the oldest of its kind in the Western Hemisphere. It was built by Finnish settlers in 1638, and later had a two-story home attached to it in 1738. The property has been listed for sale again at a price of $475,000 by owner Doris Rink, who has listed the cabin property several times since 2015. The cabin is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites.

Boston Market is testing out new chicken wings at eight stores in the Philadelphia area, where the company will be selling the wings in 10 different flavors including Buffalo, parmesan garlic, burnin’ barrel, peri peri, Nashville hot, sweet BBQ and kickin’ bourbon. Dry rubs include Tuscan ranch, smoky BBQ and lemon pepper. The wings will be available for a limited time. Boston Market was acquired in 2020 by Bucks County-based Engaged Brands, led by entrepreneur Jignesh Pandya under the Rohan Group of Companies umbrella.

The Philadelphia Phillies released their latest hype video ahead of the World Series, which begins Friday night in Houston. When the Phillies and Astros come to Citizens Bank Park for Games 3 and 4, the Wells Fargo Center will open to fans who can't get tickets to the games. Admission is free, but fans will need tickets to enter. The bars on the main concourse will be tuned to the World Series. Beers will cost $5.

Honeysuckle Provisions, a new café and grocery store in West Philadelphia, will open Saturday, Oct 29 at 310 S. 48th St. The concept is led by acclaimed chefs Omar Tate and Cybille St. Aude-Tate, who envision the space as a community hub celebrating Black cuisine, foodways and farmers in the Philadelphia region. The project was supported by a GoFundMe campaign that raised more than $147,000 in two years.

Mount Laurel police officer Ayron Taylor, 22, of Delran, is facing criminal charges for allegedly sharing nude photos of an Evesham woman after he hacked into her Snapchat and Facebook accounts. Taylor, who became a full-time officer with the Mount Laurel Police Department last October, allegedly sent the photos to the woman's contacts on her accounts. He has been suspended and is expected to be fired by the department.

Authorities in Bucks County are seeking help from the public to locate 55-year-old Elizabeth Capaldi, a Sellersville woman who was reported missing after she was last seen by a family member on Oct. 10. Capaldi is described as 5 feet six inches with brown and grey hair and hazel eyes. She was not known to travel outside of the area alone and mainly stayed in or around the house. Authorities said Capaldi's personal belongings, including her cell phone, keys and car, remained at her home. Her wallet was missing.

Delaware County Community College has received state funding to assist in the construction of a new Southeast Campus in Drexel Hill that will include facilities for expanded programs, a workforce development center, an early childhood learning facility and other community resources and student amenities. The campus is planned at the former site of Archbishop Prendergast High School, near Lansdowne Avenue and Garrett Road.

Comedian Ariel Elias appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" this week after the late night host showed support for her in the wake of a heckling incident at Uncle Vinny's Comedy Club in Point Pleasant Beach earlier this month. Elias was pestered by a Donald Trump supporter in the crowd, causing a commotion that ended with another man throwing a beer at Elias on stage. Elias chugged the beer without skipping a beat, going viral with a video that made its way around social media.
