StrEAT Festival, Restaurant Week call foodies to Manayunk

Food trucks take over the streets April 12

Escape the city proper with a trip to Manayunk Sunday, April 12, and you'll find the streets filled with vendors for the spring edition of the StrEAT Food Festival.

More than 50 local food trucks will line Main Street, and many of them will serve dishes featuring spring strawberries. Trucks like What's In This?, The Täza Truck, Oink and Moo BBQ and Zsa's Gourmet Ice Cream will be there. (Check out the full list here.)

Artisan food vendors will sell their wares, and fresh produce will be available from a food stand. Sidewalk sales and promotions from regional stores will provide some shopping opportunities, and live music will be available throughout the festival from acts like Ginger Coyle and Kyle Campbell.

A children's activity area called Recess will occupy the younger set with games, a moon bounce and more. Those of legal drinking age can head to the MNYK Beer Garden - it's sponsored by Bud Light, but hey, it's Manayunk.

The StrEAT Festival is also the kick-off event for Manayunk's spring Restaurant Week. Starting Sunday, April 12, and lasting through Friday, April 24, local eateries will offer three-course meals for $15, $25 or $35. Spots like Winnie's Lebus, Lucky's Last Chance, Kildare's, Derek's and Yanak will participate this time around.
