An investigation is underway after a man was shot by a police officer in Kensington early Monday morning, 6ABC reports.
The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. at F and Westmoreland streets.
According to police, the officer opened fire while chasing a suspect on foot. The man was struck in the leg.
He was taken to an area hospital in an unknown condition.
The cause of the chase was not immediately known.
The officer has been placed on administrative leave while the incident is investigated.
