SVU bulletin: Suspect sought in violent sexual assault along Northeast Philly road

Police are searching for a man matching this description in a violent sexual assault Wednesday night in Northeast Philadelphia.

A woman walking in the Holme Circle section of Northeast Philadelphia was sexually assaulted around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

The woman, 22, told the Special Victims Unit that she was walking along Rhawn Street near Winchester Avenue when a man approached her from behind, covered her mouth and forced her into the woods.

The suspect then put duct tape over her mouth, cuffed her wrists to her ankles, and physically and sexually assaulted the woman.

The suspect was described by police as a black male in his 30s with medium-light complexion, about 6-foot-tall and 250-300 pounds. He has light brown hair, scruffy beard, light brown eyes, heart tattoo with tribal symbols on chest, crooked front teeth and a blue bookbag.
