The War On Drugs coming to the Tower Theater

Tickets go on sale Feb. 9 at noon

Philadelphia's own The War On Drugs, the alternative rock band sweeping critics off their feet, will play at the Tower Theater Friday, March 27. Tickets for the show go on sale to the public Monday, Feb. 9, at noon.

The local band is led by guitarist Adam Granduciel, who moved to Philadelphia in 2003. He soon joined up with musician Kurt Vile, and the two began making music together as The War On Drugs before releasing an LP and going on tour. After the tour, Vile split for a solo career.

Undergoing a few lineup changes along the way, the band released the album "Slave Ambient" in 2011, followed by "Lost In The Dream" in 2014. "Lost In The Dream" immediately gained the band critical acclaim and ended up on year-end best album lists in Rolling Stone, MOJO, Uncut, Paste, Gigwise, A.V. Club, NPR, SPIN, The Guardian and the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The band has been touring Europe for weeks, and this upcoming Philly show marks their return to the States. Grab tickets while you can, as they are sure to sell out fast.
