Carson Wentz is set to pay up for his hit on Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence during a two-point conversion attempt in the Eagles' 37-9 win last Sunday.
The NFL slapped the Eagles quarterback with a $9,115 fine for the low block, according to reports.
The play came early in the final quarter after Eagles tight end Zach Ertz fumbled the ball in the end zone on the conversion attempt, one of several the Eagles would run after kicker Jake Elliott left the game with a concussion. Cowboys tackle Justin Durant recovered the ball and started returning it the other way when Wentz tried to chase him down. Lawrence got in his way, and Wentz went low on him.
Wentz was called for a 15-yard penalty on the play, assessed on the Eagles' ensuing kickoff.
The Birds (9-1) will seek their ninth win in a row on Sunday when they host the 3-7 Chicago Bears in a 1 p.m. tilt at Lincoln Financial Field.
